LLL, a volunteer helpline support, set up to meet the growing needs of gay women. Both helpline services moved to a new premises in Mallow Street

Homosexuality Decriminalised in Ireland

Gay Switchboard Limerick, Lesbian Line Limerick, TV Line Limerick, 28 Mallow Street TVL, a volunteer helpline support, set up to meet the growing needs of transvestites Limerick AIDS Alliance, 94 Henry Street LAA moved to 94 Henry Street, part time coordinator was employed. Outreach and Education in schools began as the diagnosis of AIDS and HIV increased

Red Ribbon Project, 94 Henry Street

Limerick AIDS Alliance changed the name to Red Ribbon Project

A full time co-ordinator was employed and RRP was incorporated as a company and became a registered charity

1998
Red Ribbon Project, 9 Cecil Street

New premises in 9 Cecil Street reflected the increase in services demand and growth of service provision

2001
Rainbow Support Services, 28 Mallow Street

RSS incorporated as a company and became a registered charity. Part time co-ordinator was employed due to funding from the European Social Fund. GSL, LLL and TVL amalgamated to become Rainbow Support Services Helpline

2004
Funding from ESF ended.

Volunteers continued the service provision

2006
Funding for a full time coordinator gained from HSE.

Part time administrator funded by voluntary fundraising activities

2007
Rainbow Support Services, Leamy House

Premises moved to Leamy House on Hartstorage Street

2009
Rainbow Support Services, Foxs Bow

RSS moved from Leamy House to Foxs Bow. RRS Helpline joined the national LGBT Helpline Network

2012
Rainbow Support Services, 9 Cecil Street

RSS moved into 9 Cecil Street with one part time staff member whose post was funded until May. The Limerick branch of the National LGBT Helpline ended

Red Ribbon Project, 9 Cecil Street

RRP offered RSS a desk and office space in order to keep the LGBT service provision to the Mid West going

2012
Red Ribbon Project and Rainbow at Red Ribbon Project

RSS amalgamated with RRP and became Rainbow at Red Ribbon Project. In November the HSE funded a LGBT post along with a part time youth worker. The local Helpline number of 061 310101 was reactivated

2013
Red Ribbon Project and Rainbow at Red Ribbon Project

New premises on Davis Street, reflected the need for a space that was wheelchair accessible

2014
Red Ribbon Project and Rainbow at Red Ribbon Project become GOSHH (Gender Orientation Sexual Health HIV)
