The 2001 Finance Bill allows the Red Ribbon Project to claim back the tax paid on donations by an individual on PAYE. You need to donate €250 or more in any one financial year. These tax refunds are calculated at 41%, 20% or a combination of both depending on which rate is applicable. Those who are self-assessed may claim back the tax they have paid on donations.
Donations are cumulative, so if you give 21 euro a month to the Red Ribbon Project, rather than a single lump sum, this can still bring you over the threshold. At the end of the financial year, we will send you the appropriate form in order to enable us to claim back the tax.
To provide the Red Ribbon Project with this extra benefit from your donation(s), please don’t forget to consider this when deciding what donation(s) you can afford.
